Food quantity

Food quantity

Postby Well Seasoned » Mon Feb 01, 2016 5:45 pm

Just curious how much food you give your pups? We're at 2 cups twice a day. Besides for vegetables a few times a week, we've been sticking to what is suggested on the side of the blue dog food bag. I feel Maple is a little thin. Any suggestions or what do you do?

Maple is a wonderful name! I have a bitch named Larch and two pups from her recent litter are named Cypress and Willow. How old is Maple? Age makes a big difference in how one might answer this question.

Thanks for the compliment, you chose great names as well! We burn wood here, tap maple trees during sugaring season, wanted to stay in the "M" names per the breeder, so Maple seemed to fit.....

Maple is almost 9 mos old, we feed her 2 cups twice a day of blue wilderness lg breed puppy formula along with carrots, lettuce, and celery, etc a few times a week. Cheers!

My young dogs usually get 1 1/2 cups or 1 3/4 cups twice a day. 1 cup twice a day doesn't seem like enough esp. if Maple is a bit thin. And, welcome to the forum. Cute name too.

We feed mammoth 4 cups (2 morning and 2 night) and our vet said that is plenty. He weighed 67ish lbs and he is 8 months.
